I made a 7 minute Fomao mix to get played on UCSB radio to promote his show on May 1st. Here’s the original PSA where I mentioned that tickets are only $5, which is apparently a no no if you don’t want to get fined by the FCC.
The show on Friday is being put on by CAB and IV Garb to benefit School On Wheels, a non-profit organization dedicated to educating and mentoring homeless children throughout Southern California. Every week, hundreds of School on Wheels’ volunteer tutors give hope, educational assistance and support to thousands of children in need.
They do all this with no government funding, and operate through donations such as the ticket proceeds being generated by our show on May 1st. We hope to see everyone there!
The IV Garb winter line is out! To celebrate the 9 new incredibly sexy designs, we threw a massive party last weekend featuring 5 DJs, 5 PAs, a big old sub, and what’s called a “sonic maximizer;” this box that made everything really, really loud.
I’d be posting my set from the night, but I planned to re-record when I got home. Unfortunately, when I returned I realized the PLAY button on my left deck was broken, kind of a problem when you’re trying to PLAY music. Once I get this fixed I’ll be uploading some great new mixes, including IV Garb Promo Mix Vol 4.
As for the party, I’ll let the video below give you an idea of how it went.
This 45 minute mix comes from smooth operator Mike “Mackle” Somoff, one of the four performing DJs at the recent Brothfest. This bit ended the night as the cops promptly showed up to shut us down, followed by half an hour on the mic making obscenely drunk statements and telling people to “GTFO” over 4 PAs.

I voted NO on Prop 8 yesterday, the California bill aimed at eliminating the right for same-sex couples to marry. Around the same time, I realized that I’ve recently heard a lot of songs either called ‘Girls’ or with ‘girls’ in the title. So by total coincidence, I present:

The Twelves are a DJ/remix duo from Rio de Janeiro. Having remixed artists like The Black Kids, Radiohead, Theatre of Disco and M.I.A. to wonderful effect, they’ve released two 30 minute mixtapes, the most recent “Episode II” has been receiving constant repeat attention on my new ‘nanochromatic‘ nano. Their sound is just groovy, more disco/lounge than banging electro, yet some of the catchiest dance tunes I’ve heard. My favorite track in the new mix is their Virgins remix of “Rich Girls,” which leads so nicely into Daft Punk’s Voyager. My buddies at UCSB have started their own clothing line called IV Garb, “IV” being short for Isla Vista, the slum of a college beach town they call home. Their shirt designs are sick, and have been sported by the likes of Steve Aoki, who then bought a design and used it for an official Dim Mak shirt. Dim Mak hasn’t exactly paid my friends yet, so I suggest you buy the original design for $10 as opposed to the Dim Mak one for $30…you’ll look way cooler while supporting my buddies’ alcohol consumption sticking it to the man!
